The Coordination of Postgraduation of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES) and the National Council of Scientific & Technological Development (CNPq) publish each year selection invitations to foreign students regarding the Student Program-Postgraduation Agreement (PEC-PG). The purpose of granting master's and doctor's degree scholarships is to raise the qualifications of university teachers, researchers, professionals and higher education graduates of developing countries with which Brazil has a Cultural and/or Educational Cooperation Agreement. These scholarships are granted in all areas of knowledge in which there are Postgraduation courses that issue nationally valid degrees.
If you are from a country with which Brazil has a Cultural and/or Educational Cooperation Agreement (see list of countries on CAPES page or in the Brazilian Consulate in your country) and wish to apply for a scholarship under the PEC-PG program to take a Master's or Doctor's degree course in Education in this Program, you should take the following steps:
- Check the CAPES page to see all the documents necessary for online enrollment;
Consult lines of research and ongoing teacher's projects in this Program (The Program » Lines of Research), choosing the project that suits you;
Contact the professor coordinating this project, by e-mail (The Program » Docentes » click on "@") showing your interest;
- If the professor accepts you, wait for a decision on your work proposal by the Program's Collegial Board for receiving a letter of acceptance.
If you have difficulty in that process, contact the Coordination of Proped/UERJ by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or click here.
Other types of scholarships may be granted. For further details, contact the Brazilian Consulate in your country.
